A Vermont Girl: Memoir of Dorothy M. Parker
This quarterly is a first person account of life in Rutland during the first part of the 20th century. It is very readable memoir of Dorothy Mae Parker, which focuses on life in the 1920’s. The stories that Ms. Parker tells bring to life artifacts and documents of the past. An example of this is her telling of washing every Saturday in a galvanized steel tub after heating the water on the stove in the winter.
Throughout the quarterly are archival photos that help bring to life the personal stories of Ms. Parker. In the entire quarterly is an extremely easy read that illustrates life in Rutland during the 1920’s.
